Only a few days after "Stätten Okkulter Geheimnisse", the "Gareth-Box" has been published. Here's a selection of the illustrations I contributed:

Tutorial: How to (not) paint hair

I've been asked to do a tutorial about hair, but since I always think it's better to try to avoid mistakes than to copy someone elses techniques I tried to focus on telling how to do so. I added an example of how I would paint some little thingy, though.

Tutorial in English and German:

it's study time!

I took life drawing classes last week. Great fun and so much to learn :>
Sorry for the crappy quality, had to take photos.

some stuff happened lately, like much talking to illustrators and attending workshops and such things. loads of new input and things to practice and think about. need more time.

Portraits done in 20 minutes (each). I don't have big troubles rendering out faces properly when I want to, but I feel like I'm missing the point of getting to know the general structure of faces when I spend too much time on detail work. So I tried to give myself a time limit, which seems to work out.

let's get started

Hello there,

I'm Wizi, 23 years old and actually an archaeology student from northern Germany. I started drawing ten years ago, but it took me around eight of them to realize how to do it the right way, to actually learn something. So I began doing studies and all the stuff you probably heard enough of in order to become good enough to live on drawing one day. Right now I have one year left in which I don't need to care too much about earning money, so there's some time left for improvement. It already gets hard, though, to keep the balance between commissions, studies and also time for my private work.

I'll try to regularly post sketches, studies and finished work, but also thoughts and observations about learning to draw, people who are trying to do so and other related stuff.

Let's get started, then! :)
